My Friend and fellow world citizen, John Sims passed away at his home in Sarasota, Florida on December 11, 2022. In the entirely too brief time of our friendship, I worked with him on 4 projects - AfroDixie Remixes (City Lights Bookstore, SF), "Hurricane Aretha" on which I provided vocals, Burn and Bury on which I provided "newsreels" regarding Confederate Flag news around the country and "Pi Day" poetry, where I wrote poetry about the irrational, transcendental number and performed it with him and a group of poets, physicists and a baker or two... I created video content, wrote an article that was published in a local paper and I explored what I knew and needed to know. I found a true friend in John and miss him every day.
